Hope you are all looking forward to Jo's stag day. Remember, it is only just over a week away. Here are a few more details... Just to remind you, we are meeting at Namco Station (situated in County Hall) at 12:00pm. It's a good meeting point, because we'll be able to drink beer, eat some food and play arcade games, shoot some pool and bowl in there.
From about 3:00pm onwards, we will be on a pub crawl around the Russel Square area. Things may change, but here are the pubs we should be visiting.... (comments courtesy of www.beerintheevening.com)
- The Lamb, 94 Lambs Conduit St
Best pub in London, absolutely unchanged in the twenty years I've been visiting, apart from the appearance of seats out the front! . . . and we once met John Hurt in the bar.
- The Swan, 7 Cosmo Place
I like beer. They sell beer. It's a pub. The Johnnie machine didn't work though, and there was this bird that I was on a promise off. Oh yeah, and Sandy Toksvig was in there too.
- The Friend at Hand, 4 Herbrand St
In 24 years of living in London this has to be the best pub ever. Two juke boxes, 2 TV screens, great bar staff, and London's best pint of Kronenburg. . . and that doesn’t even take into account the furry wallpaper.
- The Goose, 31 Marchmont Street
This place is genuinely legendary. Go see the famous Goose nutters.
- The Lord John Russell, 91 Marchmont Street
A wonderful pub, they have Budvar on tap! If you go there tell Joe that Paul and Shawn say hi!
- Mabel's Tavern, 9 Mabeldon Place
The best pub in the area. The staff are great and the beer is excellent, well worth a visit.
- The Harrison, Harrison Street
Recently done up, and now with the newly shortened name, 'The Harrison', this pub is an amazing find and caters for all preferences.
We will be ending with a Phall challenge at the "Mosh" (Motijheel tandoori)!!!!

Here is the plan for Jo's stag day:
Namco Station
Meet at Namco Station, 12:00pm. Namco Station is situated in County Hall on the South bank river front next to Westminster Bridge (opposite Big Ben) and shares an entrance with McDonald's next to the Aquarium. Namco Station has a fully licensed bar which also serves an extensive bar menu.
There is a comfortable lounge seating area where you can sit and relax while enjoying a drink, bite to eat or just watching the big screen for sport or other entertainment. There is a pool hall with 7 full size American pool tables. These are situated in the bar area.
At Namco Station you can experience a whole new kind of bowling in our ultra violet lanes and there is a special floor so there is no need to hire shoes. There are over 200 video games and simulators. Every thing from skiing to horse racing. There is also Pinpoint Shot, the world's first long distance indoor laser shooting range.
Russel Square Pub Crawl
From about 3:00pm onwards, we will be on a pub crawl around the Russel Square area. This will include a sightseeing trip, taking in the School of Pharmacy and the Brunswick shopping centre!
Curry At Motijheel
At about 9:00pm we will head to Motijheel (53A Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AP) for a curry and then, if we want, continue drinking and partying into the night!
