Bob Knowing how long it takes to get everyone organised, I was wondering whether anyone fancied meeting up for another Pud.com drinks after the success of the Christmas Drinks last year.

I was wondering whether we should make it the first week in October to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the first posting on Pud.com.

Where are TIG, ANG, SRA and MPU (I'm guessing this is you Pud) now?

Maybe you could even go crazy Pud and send an invite out to all those old users email addresses.

Pud Hi Bob - that sounds like a great idea! We should definitely do something in the first week of October.

This website was originally based on classic ASP code I wrote for the Bank of America Swallow Business Systems Limited / SimCorp intranet. In the early days, it was mainly colleagues from SimCorp that posted on the underground message board. In the SimCorp days, we were all known by 3 letter acronyms - hence the TIG, ANG, SRA, MPU etc that you see.

Those acronyms stand for:
TIG - Tim Goldberg (company director)
ANG - Ann Gallagher (colleague)
SRA - Stephen Radlett (colleague)
MPU - Mike Puddephat (me)

It's hard to believe this site's been going for almost 10 years now! So let's do the drinks to celebrate and, in the next few weeks, I'll also try to organise a summer drinks. I don't see why we should be able to manage at least 2 drinks a year!

I think one of the problems with activity on this site being low is that people like Calm Boy and Dicko stop visiting when they see there is no activity for a while - and then they don't realise that the site is actually quite active again - but that you need to logon to see all of the new protected content.

Bob Well October drinks passed us by but there has been talk about doing another Pud.com Xmas drinks.

Is anyone up for it and when?

I am but I can not do Friday 2nd December, Friday 30th December or Friday 6th January.

Come on, lets get this organised.

Pud Sounds good, Bob.

In December, that really only leaves us with Dec 9th, 16th or 23rd.

I'll have to speak to my brother about Dec 9th as it's a day before his birthday and I'm not sure if he's planning on doing anything. Dec 16th might be good (last year's drinks were on Friday 17th). I'm guessing that Dec 23rd is probably too close to Christmas, but could be possible.

Of course, baby number 2 is due Nov 30th. If the baby is late, they will probably induce by Dec 14th, but everything is up in the air for me. The baby might come early and I still might not be able to make any drinks depending on how we are all getting on.

So I may have to cancel last minute, but will hopefully be able to get back to you with some concrete dates in the next day or two.

PS - Sorry for lack of website updates this week. I've been recovering after my birthday! Normal service will resume next week!

Pud Thanks for reminding me, Bob!

I've got a lot of stuff going on at the moment, so I hope I won't have to cancel at the last minute - but let's go for it. Yes, Friday December 16th it is!

Still no baby, by the way. Could be any day now.

Any ideas for a venue? I can send out some invites. Where is Calm Boy these days? He's been awfully quiet. I guess he is busy.
