How I spent my weekend - fixing a security light to the back of our house

Here's how I fitted a security light to the back of our house. Now we have a complete set of 4 dusk to dawn lights fitted - one on the front of our house, two on the side and one on the back.

Doc J I've got a wonky bath-tub that needs levelling, if you're looking to branch out into one of the "trades" Laugh

Bob Question 1 : Have you filled in the chased out conduit or is that going to get left for six months?

Question 2 : How come you didn't go for a motion sensor option? You're not really thinking about your carbon footprint leaving all those lights on all the time.

Question 3 : No sign of a blue tin conference, are congratulations in order as you were able to carry out all this work without Jez supervising or signing off on your work?

I do need to polyfill in the channels. I now have four security lights in place, so thought I would do them all in one go. Hopefully it won't take me 6 months to do it!!

Opinion is divided, but I think the police recommend a low-level, always on, ambient lighting rather than a motion sensor approach. The bulbs are low energy and only consume 11 W, so shouldn't cost too much to run.

No blue tin conference, but I did have a cheeky bottle of San Miguel once I'd finished. Jez was not supervising, but I'm sure if he was there he would have had something to say about my handiwork!

Most probably, he would have been disgusted that you had managed to do the majority of the work in one weekend. Smile
